Wimbleball Dam FAQs
|
What is happening at Wimbleball?
Why does the work need to take place?
Will we still be able to access the footpaths and bridleways near the dam?
Will there be many lorry movements to the site?
|
1. What is happening at Wimbleball?
top
We are injecting grout into bedrock or 'grout curtain' to protect the foundations of the dam.

2. Why does the work need to take place?
top
As part of our strategy for dam safety, and as required by law, we regularly inspect and maintain our dams.

3. Will we still be able to access the footpaths and bridleways near the dam?
top
In the interests of safety, there will be occasions when the bridleway next to the dam and the permitted footpath across the dam will be closed.

|
4. Will there be many lorry movements to the site?
top
By mixing the grout on site we will limit the lorry movements to about three per day and these will be on agreed main roads.
