South West Water is a longstanding supporter of WaterAid and currently funds raised by its staff and suppliers is linked to WaterAid's projects in Zambia which are supporting communities living in extreme poverty. Find out more about WaterAid's work in Zambia by watching this video.
Staff engage in a wide variety of fundraising activities for WaterAid. It is South West Water where the idea for Coast Along for WaterAid and also Give An Hour (on World Water Day) have come from. Coast Along started with teams walking sections of the South West Coast Path in 2005.
Several South West Water employees have travelled overseas to see WaterAid's work on the ground and these experiences have helped them raise awareness and further fundraising for these crucial projects.
South West Water Employee Development Consultant Susie Golics spent eight days learning about WaterAid's work to improve safe water, hygiene and sanitation in Zambia where 10,000 children under five die every year from diarrhoea.
