Other ways to pay


There are a number of ways to pay a bill.

  • | 1. Direct debit

    Paying by Direct Debit is easy because you don't have to remember to pay your bill - and you can now choose the best date to suit your circumstances.

    Payment will be made directly to us from your bank or building society account and you will be fully protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee. Choose a payment date from the following: 1st, 8th, 15th or 22nd of the month.

    If you do not have a water meter and wish to pay by Direct Debit you can pay your bill by 10 monthly instalments from April-January. Simply download, print and sign the Unmetered Customer Direct Debit Form on the right and send it back to us at the address below.

    If you have a water meter and wish to pay by Direct Debit, you can pay by quarterly or in monthly instalments. Simply download, print and sign the Metered Customer Direct Debit Form on the right and send it back to us at the address below.

  • | 2. By telephone

    You can pay by debit card over the telephone using our automated Freephone Debit Card Payment Line on 0800 230 0750.

    Please make sure you have your bill handy when paying by debit card.


  • | 3. Paying at a bank

    Please take your bill with you. If paying by cheque, make it payable to "South West Water Ltd". 

    Please write your customer reference number on the back of the cheque.

    Your own bank or building society will not normally charge you for this service. 

    If you do not have a bank account, you can pay at any branch of Lloyds TSB Bank plc but they will charge you 30p if you pay in cash (this charge is subsidised by us). 

    You can also pay using your bank's or building society's online banking or telebanking services if they offer them.

    • Reference number: Your 10 digit Customer Reference number (which you will find on the first page of your bill).

  • | 4. At a post office
    You can pay this bill free of charge at a Post Office. Please take the whole bill with you and, if paying by cheque, please make it payable to "Post Office Ltd".

  • | 5. By post

    Please fill in the appropriate payment slip on your bill and send it with your cheque or postal order made payable to "South West Water Ltd" to: South West Water, PO Box 4762, Worthing, BN11 9NT. 

    Please do not send cash through the post.  (When paying by cheque, please write your customer reference number on the back).
