Government water affordability pilot study statement


South West Water is pleased to learn that bidders to lead a pilot study investigating water affordability for the region's lower income households have been appointed by Defra.

South West Water will be working closely with Defra, Ofwat, the Consumer Council for Water and the appointed contractor to help ensure rapid delivery of the pilot study.

The water company appreciates only too well the impact water bills have on some households.

It has in the past and will continue to support in the future, any Government initiatives which seek to ease the burden on customers who are struggling to pay all their household bills.
