Ofwat confirms good news for South West water consumersSouth West Water is pleased industry regulator Ofwat has recognised the progress we have made in achieving our best ever water quality, bathing water and sewage treatment results.
Ofwat's Levels of Service report reviews the performance of the water industry in 2005-06 and shows most companies continuing to deliver high levels of services to consumers. South West Water has maintained its position as one of the top performing companies on the DG (Director General) Levels of Service indicators and its position in both the all company and water and sewerage league tables. The report also confirms our best every water quality results (99.95%), our best ever bathing water compliance results (100%) and our best ever sewage treatment compliance result (99.4%). On five out of the seven key DG indicators, we were rated 'good' or 'above average' on sewer flooding, low water pressure, supply interruptions and response to customer contacts. South West Water's Head of Regulation Keith Richards said: "It's pleasing to see the industry as a whole is making strides forward in customer service and our efforts in the South West are also recognised in this latest report. "This year has seen our best ever water quality, bathing water and sewage treatment results following years of investment.
