Free beauty fair services raise charity fundsDevon health and beauty experts have joined forces with South West Water's human tap and hope that essential funds will come pouring in for WaterAid by giving free consultations at the Matthews Hall Health and Beauty Fair on Thursday 18th September from 7.30pm in Fore Street, Topsham.
The Fair will host dozens of stalls offering free services from advice on nutrition and personal training to make up lessons and massages, along with designer clothing displays such as feather hat fascinators and hairpieces. There will be demonstrations every 20 minutes on alternative therapies including holistic massage, kinesiology muscle testing, pilates and hypnotherapy. There really is something for everybody and you can try every free 'taster session' from reflexology to hairstyle consultations. While mastering the art of looking good and feeling great visitors will be helping to improve the lives of people in the developing world. For every three people attending the fair £15 will be raised for WaterAid; that's enough to provide somebody with clean water and sanitation for life. WaterAid is the UK's only charity fully dedicated to providing safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world's poorest people. Tickets cost just £5, with discounts for groups and include a glass of wine or fruit juice and as many taster sessions as you can handle. "I wanted to continue my charity work originally started in Nepal as a health aid worker and organise a fun event which would raise awareness and funds for providing clean water- a resource we take for granted so much." said Clare Gollop, South West Water's WaterAid Representative. "After putting man on the moon 30 years ago, a child is still dying every 15 seconds because they lack access to clean water." Tickets are selling quickly and are available from Topsham Wines, Fore Street, Topsham or alternatively by contacting Clare Gollop on 01392 443674 / 877744. Any remaining tickets will be sold on the door. -ENDS- For further information please contact Dina Chandler, Communications Officer on 01392 443021 Published: 11 September 2003 |
