Waterwise roadshow on tourSouth West Water's Roadshow team will tour the region giving waterwise tips and advice on how to save a tremendous amount of tap water.
Residents can come along to over forty Roadshow events lined up throughout the South West this summer and get advice on saving water, reducing water bills and expert gardening tips.  Waterwise roadshow on tour The Roadshow team met 28 thousand of the region's residents while on tour last year and sold over six and a half thousand water conservation products. The water butts sold had the capacity to store over half a million litres of free rain water. The Roadshow vehicle is fitted out as a waterwise house to demonstrate how water savings can be made at home and give advice on toilets, taps, washing machines and meters. A new display this year will demonstrate how recycled plastic bottles are transformed into water butts. Discounted water butts and composters are available priced from just £12. Most water conservation products are sourced through Blackwall and made from 90% recycled plastic. Waterwise products can benefit gardens and the environment. Composted material keeps the soil cool, reduces moisture loss and feeds plants while controlling weeds. Composting organic matter also protects the environment by reducing the need for land fill sites. Three hundred butts of rain water fall on the average roof top every year which can be used in the garden. South West Water can provide many water saving devices for the home like hippo cistern bags which reduce the amount of water flushed down the toilet and hosepipe trigger nozzles which allow you to control the amount of water used in the garden.
