'Clean Sweep' for East Portlemouth
Work to deliver a brand new £500,000 waste water treatment works at East Portlemouth in the South Hams is underway.

Contractor T J Brent is carrying out construction work on the project to build a works to treat sewage flows in the area to full secondary treatment standard.
A meeting has already been held to discuss the scheme with local residents, the parish council and the emergency services.
Local residents have requested that part of the works take place at night in order to keep local traffic disruption to a minimum.
Project engineers have now planned to carry out construction work on a mains pipes between the new pumping station at Ditch End and the new treatment works in Millbay Road between 7pm and 7am to reduce keep traffic problems for residents and tourists.
This night time work will start early in April and should be finished in under a week. T J Brent workers aim to keep noise levels to a minimum - with the noisiest operations being completed first each night wherever possible.
Project leader Peter Brookes said: "This scheme will benefit a number of beautiful local beaches and the Salcombe estuary as a whole and we ask local residents to bear with us while we complete this work and provide modern waste water treatment for the area."
