The Year in Industry are the UK's leading student placements experts.  They work with South West Water to provide high quality paid placements for students in their gap year before or during their degree course.

At South West Water we provide placements in Information Services, Health Safety and Security, Engineering, Waste Water and Water Treatment.

Graduate Development Programme

The graduate development scheme provides opportunities for graduate calibre employees to gain a greater understanding of the South West Water organisation as a whole, learn new skills and encourage development potential.

Through participating on this scheme graduates gain experience and knowledge creating a more highly skilled workforce which in turn contributes to organisational performance.

The programme also offers graduates the chance to participate in other development opportunities such as secondments to other parts of the business. Secondments increase participant's exposure to a wider section of the business and provide them with a new set of challenges enabling even more opportunity for personal development and growth.

Trainee Placements

We offer Administration Trainee placements within various departments to school or college leavers.  These placements are two year placements, during which you will be able to study for a relevant business qualification on a day release basis at a local college.

In addition, you will receive first class training in a variety of office skills including the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint).

When such positions become available they are advertised through local colleges and on our website within the 'Current Vacancies' section.
