Land and property auction, Exeter racecourse
South West Water is selling land and property by public auction next month as they are no longer used by the company.
The auction is taking place over two days, at Exeter Racecourse on 18 November 2009 and in North Devon on 23 November 2009.
The lots being auctioned include old water treatment works at Sheldon, near Dunkeswell and Whitford Bridge, near Axminster, and storage reservoirs in Truro and Totnes. The only residential property in the catalogue is Belliver reservoir cottage at Roborough in Plymouth which is listed for £130,000.
Chris Shapland, Property Manager for Pennon said: "All the revenues received will go back into the company and mean there is less pressure on the bills of our customers."
Bradleys Estate Agents have been commissioned to organise the auction on behalf of South West Water.
Auction Manager James Carden of Bradleys said: "Following from the overwhelming success of the March auction, we are expecting an enormous amount of interest in these lots. In March the venue was overflowing with bidders and the dedicated website received over 1 million hits. Enquiries were received from over 32 countries".
