South West Water proud to support the return of Exeter Pride

12th May 2022

Exeter Pride has announced a new partnership with South West Water that will see free drinking water for attendees at this year’s event.

One of the biggest free Pride events in the country, Exeter Pride is returning this Saturday 14 May to celebrate LGBTQ+ communities across the region.

The event will kick off with the Rainbow March from 11:30 at Sidwell Centre for a 12 Noon start, through Exeter city centre to Northernhay Gardens, ahead of a fantastic offering of afternoon performances.

Entertainment will include live musical and spoken word acts, a marketplace with more than 60 stalls with local LGBTQ+ organisations and community groups, and a range of local food vendors and refreshments.

As well as sponsoring the event, South West Water is encouraging attendees to bring refillable bottles and fill up for free at one of its drinking water units, reducing the amount of single-use plastic at the event.

Exeter Pride Committee Chair, Tamsin Scott, said: “It’s vital now that we can come together, be visible, be proud, and stand in solidarity with those who are currently unable to do so. We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone back and are very grateful to South West Water for supporting our event.”

Simon Norcott, South West Water LGBTQ+ Employee Network Lead, said: “We are proud to be teaming up with Exeter Pride to support this fantastic event and the LGBTQ+ community right across our local area. We are looking forward to joining colleagues and customers on Saturday and please do bring a refillable bottle to use one of South West Water’s drinking points.”
