South West Water is heading to Lyme Regis for its latest Community Roadshow event next week to share its investment plans face-to-face with customers, provide them with the opportunity to voice their opinions and get answers to any questions they may have.
The event will be held in the centre of Lyme Regis at Woodmead Hall on 18 April, where customers will be able to talk to many different field experts from across South West Water about their focus areas and find out more about what their work involves.
The session will be laid out with a market-stall setup showcasing different stands dedicated to a range of topics including tackling networks blockages, helping customers with their bills, and natural resources and invasive species.
As part of its wider investment of £2.8 billion across the entire region, South West Water is planning to improve all storm overflows connected to the River Lim by 2027, this will include looking at ways to separate surface water from entering the sewer network and increasing storm storage solutions. This investment will further contribute towards maintaining Lyme Regis beach’s ‘good’ bathing water quality classification, as assessed by the Environment Agency, and working towards improving this to ‘excellent’ in the future.
Laura Flowerdew, Chief Customer and Digital Officer at South West Water, said: “We really do care what our customers think about both our performance and investment plans. This is why we are continuing to travel around the South West region and talk to our customers in person.
“These roadshows are opportunities for us to meet with local customers, listen to their concerns and provide clear answers on the work we are doing to invest in and protect the region we all care so deeply about.”
South West Water’s Community Roadshow will take place from 12:30pm-16:30pm at Wood-mead Hall, Hill Road, Lyme Regis DT7 3PG, on Thursday 18 April. Anyone looking to attend the event needs to preregister in advance and can do so here Our roadshows | Get involved | South West Water
