You can find ways to contact us (including for billing, operational issues and complaints) on our Contact us pages. For queries specifically about these website terms, please use the contact details on that page or write to our registered office.
3. By using our site you accept these terms
By using our site, you confirm that you accept these terms of service and that you agree to comply with them.
If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our site.
We recommend that you print or save a copy of these terms for future reference.
4. There are other terms that may apply to you
These terms of service refer to the following additional terms, which also apply to your use of our site:
-
Our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use and store your personal data.
-
Our Cookie Policy, which sets out information about the cookies and similar technologies on our site.
If you are a customer, your relationship with us as your water and/or wastewater service provider is governed by:
-
The terms and conditions which apply to the supply of water and wastewater services to you (including any relevant tariffs or charges schemes); and
-
Our regulatory obligations and codes of practice (for example, in relation to Priority Services and financial support).
Those documents are available in the Legal and Customer information sections of our site. Nothing in these website terms overrides or limits your statutory or regulatory rights, or our obligations, in relation to the provision of water and wastewater services.
Your use of any official South West Water social media accounts is also subject to any house rules or platform terms notified on those channels.
5. We may make changes to these terms
We may amend these terms from time to time. Every time you wish to use our site, please check these terms to ensure you understand the terms that apply at that time.
These terms were most recently updated in April 2026.
6. We may make changes to our site
We may update and change our site from time to time, for example to reflect changes in law, regulatory requirements, our investment plans, our services or our customers’ needs. We will try to give you reasonable notice of any major changes that may significantly affect how you use our site.
7. We may suspend or withdraw our site
Our site is made available free of charge.
We do not guarantee that our site, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. For example, we may need to carry out maintenance or upgrades.
We may suspend, withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of our site for business, operational, legal or security reasons. We will try to give you reasonable notice of any suspension or withdrawal.
This does not affect the provision of water or wastewater services to you, which will continue to be governed by our regulatory obligations and any applicable customer terms. If our online services (for example MyAccount) are unavailable, you will still be able to contact us through our other customer contact channels as shown on our site.
You are responsible for ensuring that all persons who access our site through your internet connection are aware of these terms of service and other applicable terms and policies, and that they comply with them.
8. We may transfer this agreement to someone else
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation (for example, within the Pennon group or to a successor water undertaker). We will tell you in writing (which may include notice on our site) if this happens and we will ensure that the transfer will not reduce your rights under these terms.
9. Our site is mainly for users in our supply area
Our site is directed primarily to existing and potential customers and stakeholders within our appointed water and wastewater service areas in England. We do not represent that content available on or through our site is appropriate for use or available in other locations. If you choose to access our site from outside the United Kingdom, you do so at your own risk.
10. You must keep your account details safe
If you register for an online account (for example our MyAccount service) or are provided with a user ID, password or any other piece of information as part of our security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential and you must not disclose it to any third party.
We have the right to disable any user identification code or password, whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time if, in our reasonable opinion, you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these terms of service or any applicable MyAccount or customer terms.
If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your user identification code or password, you must promptly notify us using the contact details on our Contact us pages.
You are responsible for all activity carried out using your login details unless we are at fault.
11. How you may use material on our site
We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our site and in the material published on it, including text, data, graphics, logos, images, audio-visual material and trade marks. Those works are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.
You may:
-
View the pages of our site on your device and store them in your web browser’s cache; and
-
Print off one copy or download extracts of any page(s) from our site for your personal use, and you may draw the attention of others within your household or organisation to content posted on our site.
If you do use any material from our site, you must:

-
Not use it in a misleading context; and
-
Acknowledge that it comes from South West Water Limited and (where applicable) any identified contributors.
12. Restrictions on images and other content
-
You may only download or reuse images or media from any picture bank or media library on our site where it is expressly stated on the site that this is permitted.
-
Images, logos and other media displayed elsewhere on the site are copyright protected and may not be copied, downloaded, reused or distributed without our prior written consent or the consent of our licensors.
You must not:
-
Modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way;
-
Use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text; or
-
Use any part of the content on our site for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so from us or our licensors.
If you print off, copy, download, share or repost any part of our site in breach of these terms of service, your right to use our site will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made (except that you may retain a copy of these terms of service for your records).
13. No text or data mining, or web scraping
You must not conduct, facilitate, authorise or permit any text or data mining or web scraping in relation to our site or any services or content provided via, or in relation to, our site.
This includes using (or permitting, authorising or attempting the use of):
-
Any “robot”, “bot”, “spider”, “scraper” or other automated device, program, tool, algorithm, code, process or methodology to access, obtain, copy, monitor or republish any portion of our site or any data, content, information or services accessed via it; and
-
Any automated analytical technique aimed at analysing text and data in digital form to generate information, including patterns, trends and correlations, including (without limitation) for the development, training, fine-tuning or validation of artificial intelligence systems or models.
The provisions in this clause are intended to constitute an express reservation of our rights in this regard.
This clause does not apply to the extent (if any) that we are unable to exclude or limit text or data mining or web scraping activity by contract under the laws which are applicable to us.
14. Uploading content to our site and social media
Our site is primarily for information and to help you manage your account and services. However, if you make use of any feature that allows you to upload, share or submit content to our site (for example, through forms, surveys, MyAccount or feedback tools), or to interact with our content on our official social media accounts, you must:
-
Ensure that any content you provide is lawful, accurate (where it states facts), genuinely held (where it states opinions) and complies with any standards we notify to you from time to time;
-
Not submit anything that is abusive, offensive, discriminatory, defamatory, obscene, threatening, misleading, infringing, or otherwise unlawful; and
-
Not submit spam, viruses or other harmful code, or links to any such material.
We may publish “house rules” on our social media channels setting standards for posts and comments. Where we do so you must comply with those rules when interacting with us on those platforms. We reserve the right to remove posts which breach those rules and, where necessary, to restrict or block access to our social media channels.
You warrant that any contribution you make complies with the standards in this clause, and you will be responsible to us and indemnify us for any loss or damage we suffer as a result of your breach of that warranty.
We have the right to disclose your identity to any third party who is claiming that any content posted or uploaded by you to our site or our social media channels constitutes a violation of their intellectual property rights, their right to privacy or any applicable law.
We also have the right to remove any content you submit if, in our opinion, it does not comply with these standards.
15. Rights you are giving us to use material you upload
When you upload, submit or post content to our site or to our official social media channels, you:
-
Retain ownership of your content; but
-
Grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, display and store that content and to prepare derivative works of it, in connection with our business and for the purposes of operating, improving and promoting our site, our services and our social media channels.
Where our site functionality allows other users to view or share content you have provided, you also grant a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to such users to access and use that content in accordance with that functionality.
These licences will continue for as long as the relevant content is available on our site or our social media channels and for a reasonable period afterwards (for example, in backups or archives).
16. User-generated content is not approved by us
Our site and our social media channels may include information and materials uploaded by other users. This information and these materials have not been verified or approved by us. The views expressed by other users do not necessarily represent our views or values.
If you wish to complain about content uploaded by other users, please contact us using the details on our Contact us pages.
17. Do not rely on information on this site
The content on our site is provided for general information and customer service purposes only. It does not constitute professional advice and is not a complete statement of the legal rights and obligations which apply to the provision of water and wastewater services.
You must obtain professional or specialist advice before taking, or refraining from, any action on the basis of the content on our site (for example in relation to building and development projects, environmental matters or legal issues).
Although we make reasonable efforts to update the information on our site, we make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the content on our site is accurate, complete, up to date or free from omissions.
Where there is any conflict between information on this site and:
-
The terms and conditions applicable to your water and/or wastewater services;
-
Our statutory or regulatory obligations; or
-
Formal communications we send to you (for example your bill);
those other sources will take precedence.
18. We are not responsible for websites we link to
Where our site contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties (including other Pennon group companies), these links are provided for your information only.
Such links should not be interpreted as approval by us of those linked websites or information you may obtain from them. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources.
19. We are not responsible for viruses
We do not guarantee that our site will be secure or free from bugs, viruses or other harmful components.
You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programmes and platform to access our site. You should use your own virus protection and security software.
20. You must not introduce viruses
You must not misuse our site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful, or otherwise harmfully interfering with our site or any part of it.
You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our site, the server on which our site is stored or any server, computer, database, network or equipment connected to our site. You must not attack our site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack.
By breaching this provision, you may commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law-enforcement authorities and will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use our site will cease immediately.
21. Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you
Whether you are a consumer or a business user
We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors, and for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Different limitations and exclusions of liability may apply to liability arising as a result of the provision of water or wastewater services, or other goods or services, which will be set out in the specific terms and conditions applicable to those services and in our statutory and regulatory duties. Nothing in these website terms excludes or limits any liability we may have to you in connection with the supply of water or wastewater services where such exclusion or limitation would be unlawful.
These website terms relate only to your use of our site.

-
We only provide our site for domestic and private use. You agree not to use our site for any commercial or business purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity arising solely out of your use of our site.
-
If defective digital content that we have supplied through our site damages a device or digital content belonging to you and this is caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation.
Your statutory rights as a consumer and our statutory and regulatory obligations as a water and wastewater undertaker are not affected by these website terms.
22. How we may use your personal information
We will only use your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.
23. Rules about linking to our site
You may link to our home page, provided you do so in a way that is fair and lawful and does not damage our reputation or take unfair advantage of it.
