Pollution Incident Reduction Plan

What is a Pollution Incident Reduction Plan (PIRP)?

A Pollution Incident Reduction Plan is a regulatory requirement for UK water companies. It sets out how we will reduce pollution incidents to protect public health and the environment.

The PIRP is a five-year plan, reviewed and updated annually to reflect performance and progress. It brings together our approach to monitoring, improving asset reliability, proactive maintenance, and cultural change.

Our Plan to Reduce Pollution Incidents and Protect the Environment

Our Pollution Incident Reduction Plan (PIRP) explains how South West Water identifies, responds to, and reduces sources of pollution from our water and wastewater network.

Our current plan sets out the actions and commitments we are making to protect rivers, coastlines, and communities in our region.
