If you will be affected by the planned shut, then please use the tips below to prepare.
When we plan work in your area, we will inform you of the date and duration of the supply interruption at least 48 hours beforehand. Unlike unplanned events, this gives you the opportunity to prepare. Below are some tips on how to get ready for a planned shutdown if you have been notified.
To ensure you have enough water for cooking, drinking, and pets during the supply interruption, store water ahead of time. There's no need to buy bottled water; simply fill up water bottles or containers from the tap while it's still available, ideally on the morning of the interruption.
In the event of an incident, you won't have water to flush the toilet. Utilize your water butt or some of your stored water (if you have sufficient) to flush the toilet by filling up a bucket and pouring it into the bowl.
Hand sanitizers or soap that doesn't require water can be used to wash your hands. Baby or biodegradable wipes can also help but remember not to flush them down the toilet. Dry shampoo can be used to wash your hair until the supply returns.
