We are doing all we can to tackle misconnections. South West Water has ramped up its efforts to identify and resolve misconnections across the region, reducing pollution to the environment and protecting public health.
Property owners have a legal responsibility to ensure their sewers are correctly connected to the public sewer. As such they are responsible for the costs of correcting misconnections, however for a limited period we are offering financial support to assist with this, subject to eligibility criteria.
If we have sent you a letter confirming your property is misconnected, dependent on eligibility, we could pay 50% - 100% towards the cost of correction, up to the value of £2,500 - £5,000.
