Our investment
We’re investing in essential upgrades to the water network serving Camborne and the surrounding area. This project forms part of our Resilience Scheme and will help strengthen and futureproof local water supplies as the area continues to grow.
As new developments are built in Camborne and nearby communities, demand on the water network is increasing. To support this growth, we are installing additional water mains to expand network capacity and improve overall resilience. This will help reduce the risk of supply interruptions during periods of high demand and provide greater flexibility in the event of an emergency.
What the work involves
We will be installing new sections of water main to enhance the existing network. These upgrades will increase capacity and improve reliability, ensuring the system can meet future demand.
The work will take place within the public highway and will involve excavation to lay the new pipes. All affected areas will be fully reinstated once the work is complete.
Traffic management and access
To carry out the work safely, temporary traffic management will be required. This will include road closures in certain areas, including near numbers 4 to outside 52 Dolcoath Road, TR14 8RP.
We understand that road closures can be disruptive. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained wherever possible, and emergency vehicle access will be preserved at all times. We will also work closely with the local highways authority to minimise inconvenience and ensure any diversions are clearly signposted.
Benefits of the project
• Reduced risk of supply interruptions
• Improved resilience during emergencies
• Increased capacity to meet peak demand
