Tintagel Resilience Scheme

Our investment

We’re investing in essential upgrades to the water network serving Tintagel and the surrounding area. This project, known as a Resilience Scheme, will strengthen and futureproof water supplies as the town continues to grow.

As new developments are built in Tintagel and in nearby communities, demand on the water network increases. By installing additional water mains, we’re increasing network capacity and building greater resilience into the system. This investment will help support future growth, reduce the risk of supply interruptions during periods of peak demand, maintain reliable water supplies, and provide improved flexibility in the event of an emergency.

What the work involves

The scheme involves installing new sections of water main along Bossiney Road and Trenale Lane in Tintagel. These new mains will be integrated into the existing network to improve capacity and reliability.

The work will take place within the public highway, excavation will be required to lay the new pipes, and all affected areas will be fully reinstated once the works are complete.

Traffic management

We understand that road closures and traffic lights can be disruptive. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained wherever possible, and emergency vehicle access will always be preserved. We’ll work closely with the local highways authority to minimise inconvenience and ensure diversions are clearly signposted where required.
