Chapelfields development
We understand the inconvenience and concerns raised by the residents of St. Mabyn regarding the sewage management at the Chapelfields development. We are incredibly sorry for any disruption this has caused.
It is important to note that currently, only three properties within the Chapelfields development are occupied.
To address the immediate concerns, we are conducting daily checks on the private pumping station to ensure it is operating as it should. Furthermore, to manage wastewater effectively, we have deployed tankers to remove flows until the necessary infrastructure upgrades are completed. These will run 3 times a week unless additional support is required.
We are committed to providing a long-term solution. We have applied to the Environment Agency for a new permit. This permit will allow us to upgrade the local wastewater treatment works to accommodate the additional flows from the Chapelfields development and anticipated further growth within the catchment.
We are committed to working closely with the residents of St. Mabyn and the parish council to address their concerns and provide regular updates on our progress. Public health and environmental safety are our absolute priorities.
We are dedicated to improving our services to prevent similar issues in the future. We are working to ensure these issues are resolved.
